National Adorable Children and Pawsitively Adorable Contest Winners {SE MN Photographer}

We are proud to announce we had 9 winners in the National portion of the Adorable Children and Pawsitively Adorable contests. The National portion of the contest took place at the lab and was judged by a panel of judges based on quality, appearance, charm, expression, and personality.

In the National Pawsitively Adorable contest…

We had First Place for Me & My Human. They won a $100 Visa gift card.

We had Second Place for Newborns. They won a $75 Visa Gift Card.

We had a Third Place for Dogs. They won a $50 Visa Gift Card.

We had an Honorable Mention for dogs. Super exciting as this is my dog, Maverick. We won a $25 Visa Gift Card.

We had an Honorable Mention in Buddies. They won a $25 Visa Gift Card.

In the National Adorable Children contest…..

We had a Second Place for Bloopers. They won a $75 Visa Gift Card.

We had a Third Place for Bloopers. They won a $50 Visa Gift Card.

We had a Third Place for 13 Months- 2 Years. They won a $50 Visa Gift Card.

We had an Honorable Mention for 9-12 Years. They won a $25 Visa Gift Card.

The lab where these took place is having some website issues, but as soon as we can see the other winners, I will post them here, too. Congratulations, everyone! Thanks for participating and voting! =)

And since we did not do the local portion of the Pawsitively Adorable as it was mostly my assistant’s dogs and family pets, and I had not posted the Pawsitively Adorable images, these are the other images we submitted. So they each received a 16×20 print from their session.

Adorable Children’s Portrait Contest {Spring Valley MN Children’s Portrait Photographer}

We are excited to announce our participation in the national ‘Adorable Children’s Portrait Contest’.  Schedule a portrait session with Photography by Kari for your child(ren) age newborn to 12 years now (beginning of 2015, so if you have already had a session in 2015, you may enter a photo) until May 2015 and you can choose to enter the Adorable National Children’s Portrait Contest.

This is a national contest being put on by one of our labs and is open to kids ages newborn to 12 years and has a variety of categories.  The photos will also be judged locally via votes on Photography by Kari’s blog  in June.  The top 5 winners with the most votes in the local Photography by Kari Adorable Children’s Portrait contest will receive a 16×20 print ($105 value) of the winner’s choice from the session used to enter the contest . The Grand Prize  winner of the local contest will also receive a 5×7 session brag book (a $350 value).

The best part of the contest is that there are over $7500 in prizes in the National contest! So why not get some cute photos of your child(ren) AND have the chance to win the top national prize of a $1500.00 MasterCard gift card?

The National Photo Categories are:
• 0-6 months
• 7-12 months
• 13 months-2 years
• 3-5 years
• 6-8 years
• 9-12 years
• Mommy/Daddy and Me (one adult and one child)(Maternity pictures are not eligible)
• Buddies (minimum of 2 subjects)
• Bloopers
• Me n’ My Pet

 

Fine print:
1. Parents/Guardians MUST sign a model release form that gives permission to Photography by Kari and American Color Imaging with unlimited use of the child’s photographs without additional compensation.

2. More than one child may be included in the portrait session, but only images of children ages 12 and under are eligible to win.

3. For National judging, prints are judged on the basis of quality, appearance, charm, expression and personality. All judging decisions are final.Contest winners will be announced and prizes awarded on July 31, 2015 for the National Photo Contest.

4.  There is no cash value to the local prizes.

I used the random number generator to pick the winner.  I gave everyone a number in the order that they commented on the blog.  The random number generator picked 50.

Love and a Little Bit of Rock ‘N Roll {Spring Valley MN Family Portrait Session}

I haven’t blogged a session again in awhile as it’s so much easier to just add sneak peeks to Facebook, but I love this family. Furthermore, I had a lot of favorites to share, so a blog post seemed appropriate.  As you can see from the session, their fabulous family of four is always ready for some fun! (Well, “J” didn’t like the tattoo stand as much as his brother and the rest of us did as you can see, but it still made for an adorable photo)  Love the urban look this session took.

10 Years {Spring Valley MN Portrait Photographer}

This month,  Photography by Kari  celebrates 10 years of being in business!  It’s hard to believe that! Ten years has gone by so fast.  Where did the time go?  What an exciting milestone!

Looking back at 10 years in business I feel truly blessed that I get to continue to do what I LOVE every single day!

Thank you to those who have been there, supporting me from the very first day and for those who have recently discovered me and my business. I never would have come this far without all the love and support I  from my family, friends, assistants, clients, and all my Facebook fans who take the time to click the “Like” button. THANK YOU for supporting Photography by Kari!  Here’s looking forward to the next 10 years!

So with all that said and the fact that it’s TBT,  here’s a collage from  my first portrait session….

My how times have changed, Isiah, is now a senior and we did his senior portraits this past fall…

And Zach is now  15 and is one of my assistants at Photography by Kari…  He was Olaf at Halloween this year….  

We’ve come a long ways from doing shoots in our living room or my Dad’s shed in the warmer months to our studio in downtown Spring Valley that we moved into 5 years ago (can’t believe that either).  Can’t wait to see what the next 10 year will be!
