National Adorable Children and Pawsitively Adorable Contest Winners {SE MN Photographer}

We are proud to announce we had 9 winners in the National portion of the Adorable Children and Pawsitively Adorable contests. The National portion of the contest took place at the lab and was judged by a panel of judges based on quality, appearance, charm, expression, and personality.

In the National Pawsitively Adorable contest…

We had First Place for Me & My Human. They won a $100 Visa gift card.

We had Second Place for Newborns. They won a $75 Visa Gift Card.

We had a Third Place for Dogs. They won a $50 Visa Gift Card.

We had an Honorable Mention for dogs. Super exciting as this is my dog, Maverick. We won a $25 Visa Gift Card.

We had an Honorable Mention in Buddies. They won a $25 Visa Gift Card.

In the National Adorable Children contest…..

We had a Second Place for Bloopers. They won a $75 Visa Gift Card.

We had a Third Place for Bloopers. They won a $50 Visa Gift Card.

We had a Third Place for 13 Months- 2 Years. They won a $50 Visa Gift Card.

We had an Honorable Mention for 9-12 Years. They won a $25 Visa Gift Card.

The lab where these took place is having some website issues, but as soon as we can see the other winners, I will post them here, too. Congratulations, everyone! Thanks for participating and voting! =)

And since we did not do the local portion of the Pawsitively Adorable as it was mostly my assistant’s dogs and family pets, and I had not posted the Pawsitively Adorable images, these are the other images we submitted. So they each received a 16×20 print from their session.

Couple with dog {Rochester Minnesota dog family portrait photographer}

It’s no secret, pet portraits, especially dog portraits, have a special place in our hearts and we love capturing pets with their people. Dogs are truly a member of the family and as such, they should be photographed like one.

This is the second time we’ve taken photos of these three. The last time, about 3 years ago, Kevin was just a puppy and it was so, hot and humid that his “Mom” and “Dad” chose to not be in many photos as we were all sweating just standing there. But last fall we got a beautiful Minnesota November afternoon. For their session, they asked us to capture Kevin’s (the dog) personality as well as to take photos of them as a couple and as a family. They spend a lot of time in nature with Kevin, and one of their favorite places to hike with him is at Quarry Hill in Rochester, MN. Such a great spot for a photo session.

We have so much fun with these three. We left with sore cheeks as we were laughing and smiling the entire time we got to hang out with them. They make our job so easy and Kevin is full of personality but also was laid back, very sweet, and a natural for the camera.

25 Years {SE MN Couple Portrait Photographer}

This post is going to be a total overload share, but I just LOVE these photos. When Tom & Shellie reached out and asked to have a session for their 25th wedding anniversary coming up next month, I couldn’t have been more excited! They are two of the sweetest people and I’m so grateful to have met them. Tom and Shellie both work for the company I have my modified van from. Tom, I have known and worked with since I was 16 years old. Tom gets the pleasure of getting my texts when on the rare occasion that my ramp door acts up and having to fit and adjust me into a van when I have gotten new ones. I’m a bit picky, okay maybe very picky, but he has always been happy to do whatever I ask. We started out a Masonic and then ran out of spots with leaves and great light, so we headed out from behind the cliff to chase the sunset and did some photos near CTY 1. Tom and Shellie are so fun to be around and you can feel their love just by seeing how they look at each other. This will forever be one of my favorite shoots! Check out how adorable they are in the photos below! And how handsome is their dog, Gus?!

Prom 2020 {SE MN Prom Portrait Photographer}

Prom is an experience many high school students look forward to. But because of the coronavirus pandemic, dances were canceled, tickets refunded, tux rentals were never picked up and beautiful dresses sat in the closet. However, memories can still be made. And look how stunning they are! So happy they were able to get a little bit of that prom experience! with some portraits using downtown and the parks in Spring Valley, MN.

Engagement {Spring Valley MN Engagement Portrait Photographer}

This morning I was at Chateau de Chic getting my hair done for my own family portrait that we had tonight and another customer came in and was talking about having rehearsal tonight for her brother-in-law’s wedding tomorrow and it reminded me I had never shared any of their engagement photos. ? So tonight beforethe wedding, I am sharing some of my favorites.
We had to reschedule once due to extreme cold and it wasn’t much better the day we did these. I’m honestly surprised none of us got frostbite as it was 10 below if my memory serves me correctly. However, the snow and frost on the trees made for beautiful photos outside.

Fall Engagement {SE MN Engagement Couple Portrait Photographer}

Back in October, we had the pleasure of meeting up with Maddi and Justin for their engagement session. It was a windy and cold day, but sunny. The colors were looking extra vibrant, providing the perfect scenery for their session. We are so glad they were willing to brave the cold and the wind because their portraits turned out beautifully.
