Watch Me Grow {SE MN Infant Portrait Photographer}

I have been terrible about sharing sessions since we have been able to open back up, but this week Andrea and I got me transferred to a “new” (we got it a year ago) computer. Gosh what a job it is to get everything moved and set up, no wonder I always put it off. But goodness, this new computer is so much faster than my 10 plus-year-old computer. I did some fall sports banners yesterday and was able to knock out 3 of them which would have likely taken me 2 days to do before as my computer would bog down with the huge files. With that said, I PLAN to share more. Miss S is coming into the studio every 3 months for her Watch Me Grow session. Here are some of my favorites from her newborn and 3-month session. Love all of her hair! Can’t wait to see how much it has grown at her 6-month session next month.

Outdoor Newborn Session {SE MN Newborn Portrait Photographer}

Not having the studio and all our props at hand made me nervous that I may have not grabbed something we would need during the session, but it turned out absolutely perfectly.

Newborn Session that Rocks {Wykoff MN Newborn Portrait Photographer}

Holy cow, am I excited to share these photos from Mr. W’s newborn session!!! This little sweetheart is more than just an adorable newborn, he also happens to be Andrea’s bundle of joy.

He was just 11 days old when we did Mr. W’s newborn session. His momma and I made sure to have a relaxed and fun time with his newborn session and he rocked it. I SO enjoyed having little W in our studio to take his newborn photos and look forward to capturing many more memories in the months and years to come.

P.S. Andrea, I am so proud of you and love seeing you as a mom.

Newborn Mr. K {Spring Valley MN Newborn Portrait Photographer}

Our first newborn session since quarantine and it was a special one. It was with my friend and former assistant Brianna’s new little one Mr. K. I had so much fun during this session catching up with Bri as we haven’t seen each other in person for quite a long time. We kept the session pretty simple and probably spent more time chatting than actually taking photos. But we were sure to get in one really special photo in during our session. Bri brought an entire box full of empty syringes from her IVF treatments to capture that Mr. K was made with a little science and a lot of love.

Quarantine Newborn Session {SE MN Newborn Portrait Photographer}

When this entire quarantine thing started, I immediately thought of all the Watch Me Grow sessions we had coming up and the newborns who would be born, and NOT get pictures. I brought me to tears to have cancel sessions, but it had to be done to keep everyone safe. Our last session was March 14th and this little guy was born about a week later. At the time, I had told his Mom not to worry as we have done newborn sessions with 6 week olds before. However, when Governor Walz extended the stay at home order, I had to do something to help capture these memories for their family.

I contacted his Mom to see if she would be willing to give it a try. She was up for the challenge. So she got a hold of her Mom’s camera and on Saturday we face-timed and I was on the phone with them during the entire process, making sure to tell them some things to make this work and create images that they would be proud of. I helped with finding the light and changing camera settings and with how too pose or get the blankets set to help with with posing. I will say these poses are simple, there would be no way to actually tell them how to do the harder ones. It takes a lot of experience to get those.

I then made a Dropbox folder for her to upload the photos to for me edit and also do a little extra Photoshop magic to. Also, the editing of these took a little while longer, but was so worth it.

I would never suggest these should replace a professional actually taking your newborn images when it is again safe to do so, but they are pretty priceless in this quarantined world.
